Nor woman or child.
He takes,
but never gives,
He gets,
But never wants,
Demands,
But never asks.
He makes our childhood fade away.
He makes us age at a swiftly pace.
What’s the hurry?
You might wonder.
If Time went astray,
And elongated the Every Passing Day,
We would never age,
Nor learn,
Time would nearly stop.
A second would become a year,
A decade,
Or a century,
Or maybe even a lifetime.
We would never truly live,
For, if Time slowed down his rapid pace,
We never would become what we could have been.
If Time slowed down his brisk pace,
A lifetime would become an eternity
And we would near-forever stay the same.
So we must learn to live life to the fullest,
To follow our dreams,
To do our best,
And acknowledge those around us.
Time is a friend to no man,
But we must not treat him as a traitor.
Or your time will surely fade.
I would certainly give more time to certain people.
